Who we are

Mimirquest is a household chore app for families, couples, roommates and people living alone. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up we store your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.

Household content. We store what you put into the app: chores and schedules, completions and streaks, extra work you log, household events, chat messages and reactions, expenses, receipts and settlements, and the names and roles of the people in your household.

Photos. If your household uses photo proof, the photos you take when finishing a chore are stored so other members can review them. Proof photos are automatically deleted after 30 days. Receipt photos for expenses are kept until you delete the expense.

Notifications. If you turn on reminders, we store a push subscription for each of your devices so we can send you chore reminders, approval requests, outbid alerts and payment notices. You can turn this off at any time in the app.

Guest accounts. You can try the app as a guest before creating an account. Guest data works the same way and is only kept if you choose to save the account.

Technical information. We keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and troubleshooting.

How we use your information

We use your information only to run the service: showing your household its chores, chat, expenses and fairness overview; sending the notifications you asked for; keeping your account secure; and fixing problems.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show advertising. We do not use your household content to train AI models.

Children

Families can invite children into a household. A child's account is created and managed through a parent's invite, and a parent approves a child's finished chores and logged extra work before they count.

We collect the same limited information for children as for any member — a name, an account and the chores they do — and nothing more. We do not show advertising to anyone, including children.

If you believe a child has created an account without a parent's involvement, contact us at williamengellau@hotmail.com and we will remove it.

Who can see your information

Your household. Members of your household can see the chores, completions, photos, chat, expenses and balances that belong to that household. People outside your household cannot see them.

Service providers. We use a small number of providers to run the app: cloud hosting and database (our backend provider), and push notification delivery through Apple and Google. These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

Legal. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep your information

We keep your account and household data for as long as your account is active. Proof photos are deleted automatically after 30 days. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and household content, except where we must keep records for legal reasons.

Your rights and choices

You can see and correct your information in the app at any time. You can turn notifications off per device. You can leave a household, and you can ask us to delete your account and personal data by contacting williamengellau@hotmail.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to a copy of your data or the right to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will help.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls that limit each person to their own household, and securely hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date below. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
